Day-by-Day Itinerary
Maun to the Okavango Delta — Mokoro Launch
Meet at Maun Airport in the morning and transfer by 4x4 to the mokoro station at the edge of the Okavango Delta. Meet your team of expert polers and guides, load the mokoros, and push off into the channels. The first few hours are spent gliding silently through crystal-clear waters flanked by papyrus and water lilies. Arrive at your first island campsite in the late afternoon, where the crew has already set up camp with dome tents, a dining area, and bucket showers. Enjoy sundowners as the delta turns gold in the fading light.

Okavango Delta — Full Day Mokoro & Walking
Wake to the sound of hippos and birdsong. After a campfire breakfast, set out on mokoros for a full day exploring the delta's maze of channels and lagoons. Stop on islands for walking safaris where your Bushman guide reads tracks in the sand — elephant, lion, buffalo, and smaller creatures. Learn to identify bird calls and plants used for traditional medicine. Lunch is served picnic-style on a shaded island. The afternoon continues by mokoro to a new campsite where the crew awaits with cold drinks and a freshly prepared dinner.

Deep Delta — Water Wilderness Immersion
Push deeper into the permanent water zone of the delta, where hippo pods are abundant and the birdlife reaches extraordinary levels. The morning mokoro session focuses on photography — your guide positions the canoe for optimal angles on malachite kingfishers, African jacanas, and pygmy geese. After brunch at camp, a walking safari explores a larger island where giraffe, zebra, and tsessebe graze in the open grasslands. The evening brings a special bush dinner cooked over open coals under a spectacular canopy of stars.

Mokoro to Dry Land — Transition to Game Drives
The morning begins with a final mokoro journey back through the channels toward the delta fringe, where the landscape transitions from waterway to dryland. Transfer by 4x4 to a new campsite on the edge of Moremi Game Reserve. The mobile camp is set up in a scenic location near a productive waterhole. The afternoon game drive in the open 4x4 vehicle reveals the dramatic change in wildlife density as you enter Moremi — expect elephant, buffalo, giraffe, and various antelope species.

Moremi Game Reserve — Big Five Game Drives
A full day exploring Moremi Game Reserve by 4x4. The early morning drive follows the floodplain edge where predators are most active — lion, leopard, and cheetah all frequent this area. The diverse habitats of Moremi support one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, and Big Five sightings are regular. Return to camp for a hot brunch and rest. The afternoon game drive ventures to different areas of the reserve, focusing on wild dog tracking. A night drive after dinner reveals nocturnal creatures including African civet, honey badger, and porcupine.

Moremi — Xakanaxa Lagoon & Forest Drives
Today's game drives focus on Moremi's legendary Xakanaxa Lagoon and the surrounding riverine forest. The morning drive along the lagoon reveals herds of elephants bathing, hippos in the shallows, and a spectacular variety of waterbirds. The mopane and sausage-tree forests harbour elusive leopards, and your guide's tracking skills are put to the test. After a bush lunch in the shade, move to your final campsite in a beautiful location selected for its proximity to productive wildlife areas. The evening campfire session is a chance to reflect on the journey so far.

Final Full Day in the Wild
Your last full day in the Okavango-Moremi ecosystem. An extended morning game drive covers both wetland and dryland areas, targeting any remaining wish-list species. Your guide will go the extra mile to ensure you have every possible encounter. Return to camp for a late brunch, then spend the afternoon at leisure — read in the shade, photograph birdlife around camp, or join a short walking safari. The evening brings a special farewell bush dinner prepared by your camp chef, complete with local songs and stories from the crew.

Enjoy a final sunrise from your tent and a campfire breakfast. Pack up camp one last time and drive overland back to Maun, with game viewing opportunities along the route. Arrive in Maun by midday, with time for lunch and souvenir shopping before your onward flight. Say goodbye to your crew — many guests find this the hardest part, as the bond formed over a week of campfire evenings is surprisingly strong.
