Safari Experience
What should I pack for a safari?
Neutral-coloured clothing (khaki, olive, tan), comfortable walking shoes, a warm layer for early morning game drives, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, and a camera with a zoom lens.
Is it safe to go on safari?
Yes. Safari travel in East and Southern Africa is very safe when booked with reputable operators. Our verified operators follow strict safety protocols, and our guides are trained in first aid and wildlife behaviour.
What is the best time to visit?
The dry season (June-October) is ideal for wildlife viewing as animals gather around water sources. The Great Migration in the Serengeti/Mara peaks July-October. Green season (Nov-May) offers lower prices and lush landscapes.
Travel Practicalities
Do I need a visa?
Most nationalities can obtain visas on arrival or via e-visa for Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda. South Africa has specific visa requirements depending on nationality. We'll advise during booking.
What vaccinations do I need?
Yellow fever vaccination is required for East Africa. We recommend consulting your travel doctor 6-8 weeks before departure for advice on malaria prophylaxis, hepatitis A/B, typhoid, and other region-specific recommendations.
Is travel insurance required?
Yes, comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory. Your policy should cover medical evacuation, trip cancellation, and personal belongings. We can recommend specialist safari travel insurance providers.
