The lodge restaurant sources ingredients from its own organic farm, including fresh vegetables, herbs, honey, and Arabica coffee. Meals feature Tanzanian and international cuisine with a farm-fresh philosophy. The bar serves locally inspired cocktails, Tanzanian wines, and house-roasted coffee.
Activities include guided coffee plantation tours, organic garden walks, Ngorongoro Crater day trips, cultural visits to Iraqw communities, mountain biking, bird watching, and cooking classes with the lodge chef. The lodge also arranges excursions to Lake Manyara and Tarangire.
The nearby Ngorongoro Crater is home to approximately 25,000 large animals including the Big Five. The crater floor hosts one of the densest lion populations in Africa, along with black rhino, flamingos on the soda lake, and large buffalo herds. The surrounding highlands are home to elephant, bushbuck, and over 200 bird species.
The Ngorongoro Crater offers excellent year-round game viewing. The dry season from June to October delivers the clearest skies and best wildlife concentrations on the crater floor. The green season from November to May brings fewer visitors, lush landscapes, and the calving season.
